Akina Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer 1 with an interest in AI to join our Columbia, MD team. You will help gather requirements, build and test AI-assisted tools, and streamline workflows to support TAO capabilities.

Strong coding foundation and curiosity about AI applications are essential. You will work with senior engineers and SMEs, applying AI agents and MCP integrations to accelerate development and certification in a mission-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of SWE experience in programs/contracts of similar scope and complexity.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline is required.
• Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may substitute for a bachelor's degree.
• Experience or familiarity with AI/LLM tools and applying them to automate tasks is desirable.
• Strong documentation and communication skills; willingness to learn from SMEs.
• Familiarity with Git, testing, and debugging; understanding OS and networking concepts.
