RAND’s Center on AI, Security, and Technology (CAST) invites applications for a Visiting AI Security Resident. The role addresses securing AI systems, policy implications, and technical development. You’ll lead multi-disciplinary projects, produce research outputs, and inform senior government and industry leaders.

Qualifications

• Strong analytic and problem-solving skills with ability to conduct rigorous research.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects.
• Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical audiences and policymakers.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex projects spanning technical research, policy analysis, and infrastructure development.
• Develop AI-specific threat models and assess cyber capabilities in frontier AI systems.
• Communicate results through policy briefs and detailed research reports to senior stakeholders.
