RAND Corporation is seeking a Visiting AI Security Resident to lead research at the intersection of AI security, policy analysis, and infrastructure development. You will manage multi‑year projects aimed at securing AI systems, developing threat models, and delivering policy‑driven insights to government and industry leaders.

The role emphasizes collaboration across technical and policy teams, publication of quick‑turn policy briefs and in‑depth research products, and contributing to long‑term

Qualifications

• Strong background in security engineering, software/firmware/hardware engineering
• Proven technical management with cross-functional leadership and budgets
• Experience leading complex projects to completion
• Proficiency in Python, Java, or C/C++
• Ability to develop rigorous threat models and identify vulnerabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and policy audiences
• Ability to reason about policy options given technical considerations
• Team-oriented, collaborative in multidisciplinary settings
• Fluency with MS Office suite

Responsabilités

• Lead complex projects spanning technical research, policy analysis, and infrastructure development
• Develop AI-specific threat models and security research deliverables
• Build software tools for AI cyber capability evaluations
