Job summary

Cisco is seeking a seasoned Security Data Engineer to design, build, and scale AI-driven threat detection systems. You will integrate security data, signals, and foundation models, building an end-to-end platform for analysts.

You will prototype AI features, develop an AI DevOps data pipeline, and collaborate with security researchers to validate real-world utility. Strong coding and data engineering experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree plus 7+ years of related experience or Master's with 4+ years.
• Experience with storage systems and storage access layers.
• Experience with data platforms and/or data lakes and warehouses or streaming platforms.
• Experience building scalable backend services, APIs, and automation workflows in Python or Go.
• Experience designing agent systems that will perform coding tasks for you.

Responsibilities

• Design and build systems that fuse security data, signals, context, and foundation models to spot threats.
• Prototype and test AI features, decoding events and predicting anomalies in collaboration with security SMEs.
• Develop an AIDevOps pipeline for rapid data experimentation and evaluation of iterations.
• Architect and build the distributed platform that can correlate trillions of events and signals, and synthesize them into explainable findings.
• Collaborate with product and platform teams to co-design AI-enhanced threat detection workflows.
