Job summary
Workiva is building an AI-enabled enterprise platform for finance, risk and sustainability. We seek a Principal Software Engineer to define strategy, deliver complex systems and raise the technical bar across teams.
You’ll design AI-driven systems, create guardrails and validation layers, and partner with product leaders to ensure outcomes align with business goals. Remote work from within the US is supported, with a security-first engineering culture.
Qualifications
- 8+ years building and scaling complex software systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; or 6+ years with Master; or PhD with 4+ years.
- Experience using AI as a primary development collaborator with high quality output.
Responsibilities
- Partner with engineering teams to co-deliver complex work across platform modernization, product evolution and new product bets.
- Lead technical strategy across large, multi-team initiatives with long-term impact.
- Design AI-driven systems and autonomous engineering workflows.
- Mentor Staff+ engineers and align technical decisions with business outcomes.
