Job summary

Huntington National Bank is seeking an IT Risk Principal to join its Independent (2nd Line) IT Risk function in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on governance, oversight and enhancement of technology and operational risk across the bank, partnering with front-line units to align with the Enterprise Risk Framework.

The position requires leadership in risk assessments, credible challenge, and communication to governance forums, with responsibilities spanning risk findings, controls, and strategy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of work experience
• Five or more years relevant experience in a technology role
• Experience in Governance/Risk/Compliance/Audit, ideally in a leadership role at a large firm
• Effective advisory and collaboration skills and ability to drive consensus
• Advanced understanding of IT processes and Technology Risks and Controls
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strategic thinking with ability to analyze risk and cost
• Process oriented mindset and ability to tell a data-driven story
• Time management and prioritization
• Ability to interact with various levels of leadership

Responsibilities

• Manage processes to ensure credible challenge and oversight of IT risk findings and action plans across the Bank
• Oversee assigned L2 risks from Risk Registry in alignment with risk appetite
• Participate in IT Policies and Standards framework to ensure alignment with risk appetite
• Deliver periodic IT risk updates at governance meetings and participate in IT Risk Committee
• Deliver quarterly independent IT Risk Assessments and targeted assessments
• Provide Risk Management leadership across IT and Operational risks
• Assist with determining IT Risk Program strategy and focus areas
• Participate in mentorship programs aligned with colleague development
