Job summary
The Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University (SEI) is seeking an AI Red Team Engineer within the AI Security team. You will help emulate adversaries against AI-enabled platforms used in national security contexts, blending offensive cyber with AI security expertise.
Responsibilities include developing new tactics for attacking AI-enabled systems, writing tools in Python, PowerShell, C, and Bash, and collaborating with CERT directorates to share findings with mission partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in CS or a related field with relevant work experience.
- Experience in penetration testing, red teaming, or exploit development.
- Hands-on with at least one command-and-control framework (Cobalt Strike or Sliver).
Responsibilities
- Red team real-world AI-enabled systems to support national security objectives.
- Develop new tactics, techniques, and procedures for attacking AI-enabled systems and related software.
- Write tools in Python, PowerShell, C, and Bash to enable red team operations.
- Represent CERT portfolio of work and coordinate with mission partners and internal collaborators.
