Job summary

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking a Principal Scientist – AI-Reasoning for Drug Discovery to architect an AI-Reasoning platform supporting translational safety decisions. Primary location is Spring House, PA, with other sites in NJ.

You will lead the development of multimodal AI systems and agent memory to accelerate discovery-to-clinical timelines, guiding teams toward trustworthy AI-driven scientific reasoning.

Qualifications

• PhD in AI/ML or related fields with 2+ years of proven experience.
• Strong foundation in Bayesian inference, uncertainty quantification, information theory, causal inference, and graph neural networks.
• Proficiency with agentic frameworks and deep learning platforms; Python programming prowess; ability to lead research teams.

Responsibilities

• Pioneer multimodal AI systems that synthesize scientific data into actionable insights for drug discovery.
• Architect memory systems for persistent, context-aware AI across discovery to development.
• Define AI reliability standards and advance uncertainty quantification in R&D.
• Translate AI/ML advances into transformative applications and mentor teams.
• Benchmark AI agents against experts and publish paradigm-shifting findings.
