Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb seeks an Associate Director, Drug Development Excellence to advance DD strategy and enable high-quality execution across cross-functional initiatives. The role focuses on deep process analysis, KPI integration, and digital enablement as the company moves toward AI-enabled operations.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will partner with leaders across Drug Development to drive improvements in processes, performance management, and change enablement in a highly matrixed

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required; advanced degree preferred (Life Sciences, Business, MBA, MS, PhD, PharmD).
  • 5–7 years in operational excellence, process improvement, or strategy execution in pharma; Drug Development experience preferred.
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies; certification a plus but not required.
  • Familiarity with project management and process modeling tools; exposure to workflow automation a plus.
  • Strong data analytics and root-cause analysis to drive decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct deep, data-driven analysis of end-to-end Drug Development processes and identify inefficiencies and opportunities.
  • Define KPIs and performance metrics; monitor and report progress against targets.
  • Lead process re-engineering initiatives to improve quality, speed, capacity, and value.
  • Identify and embed digital tools to enable AI-ready operations; partner with AI and tech teams.
