Job summary

Cribl is seeking an analytics engineering leader to own the architecture and standards for our analytics platform. You will work with analysts and data engineers to deliver trusted, AI-ready data models and governed warehouse solutions that scale across departments.

The role emphasizes dbt development, data modeling excellence, and establishing robust governance and metadata practices to support self-service analytics and reliable decision making.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on experience running dbt in production environments with expert SQL and scalable dimensional models.
• Expert-level SQL and ownership of scalable dimensional models.
• Deep expertise in modern analytics engineering practices: version control, testing, CI/CD, documentation, data contracts, lineage, governance.
• Experience designing semantic models and certified metrics for self-service analytics across multiple domains.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake performance optimization and cloud data warehouse architecture.
• Ability to establish technical standards and improve platform reliability while reducing debt.
• Experience with semantic layers, metadata management, or AI-enabled analytics platforms.
• Proven ability to partner with analysts to translate business requirements into scalable warehouse models.
• Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to technical and business audiences.

Responsibilities

• Own the long-term architecture and evolution of Cribl's analytics engineering platform, including AI readiness.
• Design and maintain certified dbt models as the authoritative source for business metrics.
• Establish analytics engineering standards for modeling, testing, docs, and code reviews.
• Design and maintain semantic and metadata layers enabling AI-powered analytics and self-service.
• Partner with analysts to migrate business logic into governed warehouse models.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering to improve source reliability and Snowflake performance/costs.
• Mentor analysts and analytics engineers on dbt development and best practices.
• Participate across multiple time zones as needed.
