Job summary

WHOOP is seeking an Engineering Manager for AI quality to lead a team of AI/ML engineers in delivering measurable, high-quality AI outputs. You will align with our Measure What Matters and Decisions Over Consensus principles while shaping robust architectures and effective validation strategies.

You’ll mentor engineers, foster innovation and psychological safety, and manage vendor relationships, partnering with product and engineering leaders to scale wearable AI capabilities from Boston, MA.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with AI/ML product experience.
• Proven experience managing third-party vendor relationships.
• Strong skills in Applied AI, ML, and deployment lifecycles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and people management.
• Passion for wearable tech in a fast-growth environment.
• Experience managing an AI product at scale is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of cross-skilled engineers to measure and improve AI outputs.
• Establish testing frameworks to evaluate model drift and performance.
• Provide clear technical direction using Decisions Over Consensus.
• Manage third-party vendor relationships and technology partnerships.
• Define AI quality strategy, architecture, and design.
• Drive initiatives to improve engineering productivity and quality.
• Mentor and coach team members for growth.
