Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is seeking an AI Project Engineer to provide AI subject matter expertise across Engineering Research & Design.

The role collaborates with ITS and multiple engineering disciplines to champion AI projects, drive process improvements, and deploy generative AI solutions throughout the organization. The ideal candidate will have strong AI experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work across diverse teams to drive AI adoption

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelors, masters, or PhD in engineering or a related field.
• Proven expertise in AI technologies and their application to engineering workflows.
• Strong understanding of engineering standards and tools (SysML, DOORS, Jama, OnBase, SharePoint).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across functional teams.
• Experience with LLMs and generative AI for process automation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an AI Project Engineer for Engineering Services, leading AI-related projects and process improvements.
• Collaborate with ITS and business teams to identify and prioritize AI use cases.
• Participate in AI roadmap discussions and defend AI initiatives across the organization.
• Champion AI initiatives to improve time-to-market and production efficiency.
• Refine the Engineering AI Roadmap and coordinate with external partners.
