General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) in Poway, CA seeks a Principal AI Battle Management Lead to guide architecture, prototyping and deployment of AI-enabled battle management systems for DoD initiatives.

You will lead multi-functional teams across autonomy software, data science and engineering, overseeing end-to-end mission execution and decision-support capabilities. You will interface with DoD stakeholders, DARPA and AFRL, guiding strategy, development and demonstration

Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD with progressive software development experience and many years in defense/aerospace.
Proven track record leading battle management or collaborative autonomy architectures in defense/aerospace.
Expertise in reinforcement learning, multi-agent coordination and decision-theoretic planning.

Responsibilities

Set the technical vision and roadmap for AI-enabled battle management systems.
Lead cross-functional teams to develop multi-agent autonomy and real-time decision-support.
Serve as principal investigator for AI/ML R&D in battle management.
Interface with senior government customers to translate mission needs into autonomy architectures.
Provide capture and proposal support including white papers and executive presentations.
Partner with industry/academia to prototype autonomous capabilities.
Establish DevSecOps, MLOps and mission assurance practices.
