Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers is seeking an AI Program Manager to coordinate and mature the firm’s AI program across offices, driving governance, adoption, and practical enablement. You will work with the Director of Technology and stakeholders in IT, Risk, Data, HR, Marketing, and Operations to ensure safe, effective AI usage across our decentralized organization.

This role emphasizes relationship-building and influence over formal authority, delivering training, office hours, and leadership

Qualifications

• 5+ years in program or project management, ideally with exposure to AI.
• Experience standing up cross-functional programs and governance workflows.
• Strong stakeholder management across offices and teams.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate AI Governance Committee agendas, review materials, decisions, action items, ownership, follow‑up, and escalation tracking.
• Maintain the firm‑wide AI inventory, use‑case register, decision log, exception log, AI‑use records, and related program documentation needed for a defensible audit trail.
• Operate the AI intake process as a practical front door for AI questions, tool requests, access requests, proposed use cases, pilots, and enablement needs.
• Track AI program budget inputs, licensing utilization, spend requests, and business‑case information for leadership review, while routing approval decisions to the appropriate owner.
• Governance and Program Operations: manage processes and reporting for AI governance.
• AI Portfolio and Roadmap Coordination: maintain visibility and coordinate prioritization across initiatives.
• Change Management and Communications: drive adoption and internal communications for AI.
• Policy, Risk, and Responsible AI Support: assist with policy, data handling, and responsible use guidance.
• AI Solution Lifecycle and Pilot Coordination: help scope pilots and evaluate tools and platforms.
• Intake, Enablement, Training, and Adoption: provide training and enablement resources.
• Tools, Platforms, and Vendor Review Coordination: manage inventories and reviews.
• Data, Knowledge, Records, Prompts, and Agents: organize AI resources and records.
• Metrics, Value, and Leadership Reporting: maintain dashboards and progress reports.
• Who We’re Looking For: 5+ years in related fields and AI exposure.
