Job summary

ISMG Information Security Media Group in New York seeks a founding design engineer to own the front-end and interaction design for AI products, from stakeholder conversations to deployed applications. You will translate complex AI workflows into clear, task-oriented experiences, build with AI-assisted tooling, and establish a practical design system, tokens, and accessibility baseline for enterprise users.

Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and sales to ensure the product meets real business

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years in a UI/UX role for production web interfaces.
• Experience designing B2B apps with complex permissions and data-heavy workflows.
• Strong understanding of user flows, responsive UX, and intuitive interface design.
• Proficient in Next.js, React, TypeScript, and semantic HTML/CSS.
• Design systems expertise: tokens, themes, and dark mode.
• Able to articulate design decisions with data and rationale.
• Experience with AI workflows using Claude for prototyping.
• Azure deployment knowledge and MS Entra ID authentication.
• Data visualization experience using chart libraries.
• Knowledge of WCAG, ARIA, and Core Web Vitals.
• Excellent attention to spacing, typography, motion, and accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Own front-end and interaction design for AI products end to end.
• Conduct lightweight user research and validate designs with users.
• Translate AI workflows into clear information architectures and tasks.
• Address AI-specific interaction: confidence, citations, approvals, and uncertainty.
• Build with AI-assisted tooling; deploy to Azure environment.
• Create and maintain a design system, tokens, and accessible patterns.
• Develop Figma libraries and design-to-code handoff processes.
• Design for role-based access, dense data, exports, and responsive behavior.
• Instrument usage via analytics and feed insights back to roadmap.
• Collaborate with AI Innovation Manager and editorial/marketing/sales to align needs.
