Job summary

Nerdy is seeking an AI Product Engineer who blends product thinking with engineering. You’ll own problems end-to-end—from understanding customer needs to shipping elegant, AI-powered experiences—across front-end, back-end, and AI logic.

You’ll move fast, shipping real customer-facing features that matter. As a part of Nerdy’s Live + AI platform, you’ll operate beyond traditional silos, turning ambiguity into shipped code, and driving measurable outcomes for global learners.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering skills across front-end, back-end or full-stack domains.
• Ability to own a problem from concept through shipped solution.
• Experience building software products, internal tools, prototypes, or applications.
• Comfort bridging product and engineering: specs, workflows, and delivery.
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate development and prototyping.
• Excellent communication across cross-functional teams.
• Customer-obsessed mindset grounded in user needs and outcomes.
• Ability to move quickly, balance tradeoffs, and iterate on evidence.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and data-driven decision making.
• Experience in fast-paced, highly iterative environments.

Responsibilities

• Identify and deeply understand customer problems through data, feedback, and observation.
• Define AI-powered features or improvements with clear problem statements, user flows, and success criteria.
• Prototype and build end-to-end solutions spanning front-end, back-end, and AI logic.
• Integrate AI thoughtfully into products, prioritizing user value and reliability.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to deliver features quickly.
• Own quality and performance of what you ship, ensuring speed and delight.
• Set up measurement and feedback loops to continuously improve features.
• Operate like an owner, accountable for impact of your work.
