Job summary

Mercury is seeking a Lead Compliance Risk Manager to own AI product compliance across its AI-enabled banking offerings. You will serve as the primary advisor shaping governance, controls, and documentation with product, engineering, risk, data, legal, and operations teams.

You will define AI-specific standards, supervise multiple workstreams, and partner with executives, partner banks, and auditors to ensure compliance-by-design from concept through launch and scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a compliance advisory, product compliance, or regulatory risk role within fintech or financial services.
• Experience advising on AI, machine learning, or model-driven products in regulated environments.
• Working knowledge of AI regulatory frameworks (UDAAP, ECOA/Reg B, FCRA, Reg E, BSA/AML, GLBA).
• Technical fluency to engage with engineers on model behavior, logging, data access controls, and risk.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration across product, risk, data, legal, and operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject matter expert and primary compliance advisor for Mercury's AI and agentic products.
• Define and refine AI-specific compliance standards and governance frameworks.
• Monitor regulatory developments and implement required changes.
• Own multiple high-impact AI compliance workstreams and drive remediation
• Present data-driven recommendations to executives, partner banks, auditors, and regulators.
