Job summary

Payscale is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the AI Transformation team, building AI-powered solutions across GTM, Support, and corporate groups. You’ll work on front-end interfaces, back-end services, and agentic AI systems, partnering with internal stakeholders to prototype, deploy, and scale secure software.

The role involves collaborating with senior engineers, DevOps, and product teams, emphasizing fast delivery, code quality, and scalable platform thinking to empower self-serve

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience building backend systems with Node.js and TypeScript.
• 2+ years of experience with modern front-end frameworks, specifically React.
• Experience with microservices and service-oriented architectures.
• Solid understanding of data models and access patterns for data-intensive applications.
• Experience with relational databases and writing efficient queries.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and production operations.
• Exposure to Docker and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, or Kubernetes).
• Hands-on experience with agentic development tools and multi-agent workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-powered application features end-to-end—from design and implementation through deployment and production support.
• Contribute to cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and production readiness.
• Develop and maintain user interfaces using React.
• Build and consume REST APIs using Node.js with TypeScript.
• Implement data models and access patterns, and efficiently consume data from data-processing services and relational databases.
• Iterate quickly on early-stage features, balancing speed with engineering quality.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers and engage stakeholders to distill requirements.
