Job summary

Steno is seeking a Records Retrieval Manager to lead a national team, driving efficiency through AI-powered, tech-enabled workflows. You will develop the team, ensure accountability, and partner with senior leadership to design internal tools and improved processes.

The role emphasizes people management, process optimization, and a strong interest in AI tools to reduce manual work while maintaining high-quality legal records retrieval.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in records retrieval, legal operations, tech-enabled services, or related operational field.
• 2+ years in a people management role, preferably leading remote teams.
• Familiarity with legal workflows and records retrieval; strong operational instincts.
• Demonstrated interest or experience in AI tools, workflow automation, or no-code/low-code platforms.
• Experience leading teams through technology adoption or organizational change.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight of a large team, managing performance, attendance, and day-to-day accountability.
• Review and approve all employee timecards, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Conduct regular one-on-ones and team check-ins to maintain alignment and engagement.
• Identify team members not meeting KPI expectations and deliver timely coaching or escalation.
• Champion AI adoption and workflow automation, guiding the team from manual to tech-enabled operations.
• Document current-state workflows and surface opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve throughput.
