Job summary

Star Mountain Capital, LLC is seeking a Portfolio Operations Engineer to drive AI-enabled modernization across the lower middle market. You will embed with portfolio company leadership to diagnose flows, propose automation, and deliver working technical solutions that unlock value.

You will author clear PRDs, collaborate with internal teams, and guide AI tooling deployments that boost efficiency, accuracy, and decision support across engagements.

Qualifications

• Engineering background with degree in CS/Software Engineering or quantitative field.
• Ability to write clear PRDs and translate findings into technical scopes.
• Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and LLM tooling is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structured workflow analysis at portfolio companies.
• Author PRDs translating operational findings into technical projects.
• Design and deploy AI-powered tools and automation within portfolio companies.
• Collaborate with internal engineering and enterprise teams to reuse infrastructure.
