Job summary

Frec in San Francisco is seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee thousands of client portfolios and help shape an AI-driven investment experience. You will ensure portfolios behave as intended, analyze drivers of performance, and collaborate with the investment team and engineers to scale portfolio management.

You will translate investment expertise into product features with licensed oversight where needed, design scalable portfolio systems, and clearly explain decisions to customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of quantitative equity portfolio management with decision responsibility.
• Deep understanding of market and factor exposures and performance drivers.
• Experience with long/short strategies is highly preferred.
• Strong coding and data analysis skills to partner with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee thousands of customized portfolios and monitor performance vs benchmarks.
• Define automated checks for risk, tracking error, and exposure controls.
• Collaborate with researchers to enhance strategy construction and attribution.
• Design alerts to surface unusual behavior and guide human judgment.
• Explain portfolio results and decisions to customers with clarity.
• Partner with product/engineering to build scalable portfolio analytics.
