Job summary

Trust & Will, a remote-first leader in digital estate planning, is seeking a Controller to oversee accounting for the company and its subsidiaries. You will lead the accounting team, own the month-end close, tax compliance, and internal controls in a fast-growing environment.

This role emphasizes AI-enabled processes and automation, collaborating with FP&A and the CFO to build scalable finance operations, drive cost analysis, and ensure GAAP compliance while supporting strategic growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of accounting experience with 4–5 years in a Controller or leadership role in a high-growth environment.
• CPA certification preferred and experience with financial reporting and controls.
• Hands-on AI/automation experience in accounting workflows.
• Experience designing internal controls for automated processes.
• Proficiency with Ramp and Rillet; strong skills in Google Sheets and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting for Trust & Will and subsidiaries; manage month-end close and tax compliance.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and scale operations.
• Lead audits and reconciliations with precise financial accuracy.
• Manage accounting tech stack; collaborate with FP&A for integrated systems.
• Partner with CFO on cost analysis and financial planning; vendor management.
