Foundation EGI is a MIT-born, venture-backed startup building an AI Copilot for design and manufacturing. This role blends machine learning with real engineering problems, handling 2D/3D CAD data and turning complex geometry into usable representations for AI systems.

You should be strong in Python/ML, curious about real-world design and capable of moving between theory and practical application. Remote-first work is supported, with equity and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Geometric Processing, Simulation, Optimization, ML, or DSLs.
• Proficient in clean, modular Python code.
• Experience creating datasets and data pipelines.
• PhD or MS in Computational Design, Simulation, AI.
• Experience with CAD/CAM/CAE software tools.
• Experience developing or fine-tuning LLMs.
• Experience designing DSLs or compilers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain geometry processing and simulation algorithms for engineering applications.
• Build services for reading, processing, and writing 2D/3D engineering data.
• Develop rendering modules for generating 2D/3D visual assets.
• Curate and manage large-scale datasets for learning-based systems.
• Implement and optimize post-training workflows for machine learning models.
• Contribute to the development of domain-specific languages for engineering tasks.
