Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an engineering professional to deliver end-to-end software solutions and guide junior engineers. This role focuses on AI-powered systems and cloud infrastructure within a PayPal Venmo context, driving DevOps productivity and reliability.

Responsibilities span infrastructure management, CI/CD, and security, with emphasis on automation, containers, and IaC. Strong communication and a desire to learn are essential. Arizona-based onsite role.

Qualifications

• 1+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bachelor's in computer science or related field of study
• 1+ years' experience in software development or a related field
• Some experience with cloud platforms, AWS preferred, or container technologies
• Programming and scripting experience with Python, Bash, Go, or similar
• Exposure to containers and container orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn
• Visa Sponsorship through PayPal is not available for this position now or any time in the future

Responsibilities

• Deliver complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle
• Advise management on project-level issues
• Guide junior engineers and operate with little supervision
• Design and build intelligent AI-powered systems enhancing Venmo Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps productivity, reliability, and velocity
• Manage infrastructure operations, automation, security, compliance, and release engineering
• Oversee CI/CD infrastructure and develop smart, secure pipelines
• Implement self-service secret management systems, development environments, microservices scaffolding, and testing frameworks
• Build and maintain tools, automation, and services powering Venmo's AWS cloud infrastructure
• Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot incidents, and
• Write automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions
