Job summary

RTI International is seeking a Software Engineer to build production-ready, AI-enabled cloud-native applications. You will collaborate with researchers, data scientists, and software engineers to translate business and research needs into scalable solutions across health, energy, and education sectors.

You will contribute to multi-step AI workflows, ensure reliability and security, and work in enterprise environments with rigorous data quality standards.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with 3+ years of work experience building cloud-native apps (APIs, microservices, containers or serverless).
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience in similar cloud-native development.
• Two years of Python/JS/TypeScript programming in AI or backend contexts.
• Experience deploying AI-enabled systems and integrating models via APIs or serving infra.

Responsibilities

• AI System & Agent Development: design and maintain AI-enabled systems and multi-step workflows for production readiness.
• Enterprise & Research Infrastructure Integration: extend RTI platforms like surveys and data pipelines within established architectures.
• Cloud-native Engineering: build and deploy cloud-native services with containers and CI/CD.
• Workflow Translation & Automation: convert research and client needs into practical AI applications.
• Evaluation, Quality, and Reliability: develop testing and monitoring for AI systems in regulated contexts.
• Client & Cross-Team Collaboration: engage with internal teams and clients, gather requirements and iterate.
• Reusable Patterns & Knowledge Sharing: document systems and contribute to reusable components.
