Job summary

Visionist, Inc. seeks an AI Platform Lead to guide an enterprise LLM-powered platform for analysts, engineers, and operators on a prime contract. You will define requirements, drive architecture decisions, and champion secure, scalable AI capabilities across the organization.

You will lead multiple engineering teams, partner with stakeholders, and stay at the forefront of AI tech. TS/SCI with polygraph is required, with vision toward mission impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (4 years may substitute).
• 12 years of experience in software development.
• Experience building, leading, and mentoring engineering teams with diverse backgrounds.
• Experience engaging with customers and end users to gather requirements and drive adoption.
• Hands on experience building production applications serving hundreds to thousands of users.
• Experience designing agentic workflows or multi-agent orchestration systems.
• Experience leveraging AI coding assistants (Codex, ClaudeCode) for code tasks.

Responsibilities

• Solicit requirements and architect an enterprise agentic platform to power autonomous workflows.
• Work with stakeholders, engineers, and analysts to map operational workflows and automation opportunities.
• Evaluate AI models and deployment architectures for cost, performance, and capability balance.
• Advise customers on AI investment strategies to maximize mission impact.
• Stay current on AI technologies and promote adoption of innovative capabilities.
• Lead outreach and training to promote AI capabilities across users.
• Lead multiple engineering teams by defining requirements and tracking execution against goals.
