Job summary

Notion is seeking an AI Platform Engineer to build shared foundations for AI products, focusing on reliability, observability, and scalable primitives that empower product teams. You will contribute to guardrails, model integrations, and cost-aware designs that keep Notion fast, safe, and scalable.

This role can be based in San Francisco or New York, with Anchor Days in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Qualifications

• Experience on AI/ML platform or data/infrastructure teams.
• Ability to break down complex system behavior and debug across layers.
• Comfort with ambiguous problem spaces and stakeholders.
• Strong focus on reliability, latency, cost and quality.

Responsibilities

• Own prototyping, development and scaling of AI platform primitives.
• Partner with product teams to provide guardrails for faster feature shipping.
• Work across infrastructure, libraries, APIs and product integration points.
• Operate critical AI systems in production with observability and diagnostics to reduce latency and cost.
• Lead safe adoption of new models with versioning, controlled rollouts and compatibility layers.
