Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a Principal Engineer in Physical AI for Consumer TIC. The role leads AI assurance for physical products and cyber-physical systems, including robotics, autonomous systems, drones, and intelligent appliances.

Hybrid work with global onsite requirements and remote consideration for non-local candidates. Responsibilities include establishing standards, assessments, and testing methodologies, partnering with product, sales, and regulatory teams, and representing UL Solutions

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field related to robotics, AI, or systems engineering.
Extensive hands-on experience with AI-enabled physical systems and robotics.
Ability to develop, evaluate, and validate complex cyber-physical systems in real-world environments.
Familiarity with safety, governance, and regulatory aspects for AI-enabled products.

Responsibilities

Develop standards, certification and verification programs for AI-enabled physical products.
Define methods to evaluate system behavior in real-world scenarios and safety contexts.
Create customer-facing offerings like readiness assessments and certification pathways.
Serve as a technical advisor to regulators, standards bodies, and industry forums.
Build global delivery capability through training and guidance.
