Job summary

Virtus is hiring a Senior Manager, AI Engineering & Platform to design and maintain the technology infrastructure powering our AI and operational strategies. You will lead hands-on development, write production code, and set architecture standards that scale with Virtus’ growth.

As the first dedicated engineering hire, you will own the data platform, API layer, and knowledge management systems, collaborating with vendors and executive leadership to deliver reliable, secure solutions.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of engineering experience across full‑stack development and data engineering.
• Proven autonomy as an early engineering hire in a growing org.
• Python, SQL, and TypeScript in daily use.
• Azure cloud experience; AWS/GCP acceptable with ability to learn Azure quickly.
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools and LLMs.

Responsibilities

• Lead data platform ownership and coordinate with external analytics partners.
• Define technical requirements, evaluate architectures and data models, oversee vendor solutions.
• Build and maintain a Virtus-owned API layer for data sources and apps.
• Develop scalable architecture for AI-enabled applications and knowledge management.
