Job summary

SemiAnalysis in San Francisco hires a Research Analyst to join the Networking coverage team and help build the AI Networking Model—the leading datacenter networking model for scale‑up, scale‑out, and topology analyses.

You will translate technical and financial data into research, client deliverables, and published content while collaborating with a small, global team and working full‑time in‑office in SF.

Qualifications

• 0–1 years of experience in equity research or a similarly analytical environment.
• Technical curiosity and ability to synthesize technical and financial information.
• Fluency with three-statement and industry modelling; strong Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with AI tools, Python or other analytical tools; PowerPoint and Excel proficiency.
• Comfortable working independently with a globally distributed team; based in San Francisco.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AI Networking Model and Dashboard components covering scale-up/scale-out architectures and related BOM economics.
• Track and model copper-to-optics transitions and emerging technologies.
• Follow earnings calls and disclosures from networking/optics suppliers to update models and write analyst notes.
• Analyze how cost, power, cooling and supply-chain constraints interact with networking architecture decisions.
• Build and maintain three-statement/industry financial models and prepare research reports and client deliverables.
• Represent SemiAnalysis at industry conferences and cultivate vendor relationships.
