Job summary

Cotiviti is seeking an AI-Native Technical Architect II to lead architecture for a complex, regulated healthcare domain. You will define AI-enabled solutions, establish guardrails, and guide engineering teams in AI-assisted development across APIs, services, data flows, and platform components.

You will balance strategic thinking with hands-on depth, ensuring end-to-end delivery, security, and maintainability while collaborating with enterprise architects and data teams to evolve the platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience designing and building web, workflow, service, and backend applications, with architecture responsibility.
• Significant experience in application and solution architecture, API design, service decomposition, and user-facing/workflow apps.
• Hands‑on experience with Java, Golang, Spring, or comparable technologies, and building rich, responsive APIs and service-based systems.
• Deep familiarity with microservices, cloud-native architecture, cloud platforms, distributed applications, streaming patterns, and enterprise integration.
• Experience applying AI-assisted development, agent-based workflows, and reusable AI skills to improve design, coding, testing, and delivery outcomes.
• Strong SDLC, including Agile delivery, CI/CD, DevOps, observability, and engineering approaches that improve quality and speed.
• Ability to translate business needs into architecture requirements and evaluate trade-offs across cost, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Proven ability to lead architecture across teams, build consensus, and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive architecture for the assigned business area, translating strategy and priorities into implementable solutions and delivery-ready features.
• Design systems that incorporate AI-enabled capabilities and establish guardrails for safe, effective AI use.
• Advance AI-assisted development practices across the team, including copilots, code generation, automated testing, and AI skill orchestration.
• Establish and reinforce architecture standards, patterns, and design guardrails; guide design reviews and major decisions across APIs, services, data flows, and platforms.
• Work with developers to ensure architecture is realized in code; identify risks and guide trade-offs across cost, scalability, reliability, security, and delivery speed.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, security, data, and other teams to align architecture with direction and outcomes.
• Evaluate emerging technologies for roadmap applicability; improve engineering via modern patterns, automation, observability, and AI-native delivery.
• Mentor engineers and architects to strengthen architecture discipline and technical judgment.
