Job summary

Cisco is seeking a Technical Lead for AI-Native Software Engineering in a hybrid role with some onsite activity in the U.S. This is a high-visibility position that guides architectural decisions across security tooling and AI-enabled development workflows.

You will drive technical direction, mentor engineers, and ensure sound architectural choices while maintaining hands-on involvement in critical designs and code reviews.

Qualifications

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or demonstrated equivalent experience.
• Extensive hands-on software engineering experience with track record of architectural decisions that mattered.
• Deep expertise in software design, architecture, implementation, and scaling.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction across the team's portfolio of work and be the escalation point for deep technical decisions.
• Lead on the hardest technical problems with optimized, defensible architectures.
• Guide engineers on sound technical and architectural choices, sharing judgment from past experiences.
• Collaborate with other technical leaders to resolve cross-cutting problems with urgency.
• Stay hands-on enough to review designs and code where it matters.
