Job summary

Cheiron, based in Los Altos, CA, is hiring to turn product concepts into engineering-ready specs. You will work across product, life sciences, and engineering to define the how and what, ensuring builds align with architecture and regulatory expectations.

You will collaborate with a life sciences team to learn regulatory domain rules and to ground specifications in first principles, delivering high‑quality, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years in product management or technical program management at the individual‑contributor level.
• Written build‑ready technical specifications (PRDs with data models, API shapes, state diagrams, acceptance criteria).
• Experience shipping at a startup or mid‑size company with ambiguity.
• Ability to read a codebase and ground a spec in existing systems.
• Fluency with AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent.
• Clear, precise writing that communicates to multiple audiences.
• Ability to build mental models of unfamiliar domains before changing them.
• Deep focus on outputs for engineering, life sciences, and other readers.

Responsibilities

• Break a product brief into components, define relationships with product teams and SMEs, and scope the build.
• Write numbered feature stories with acceptance criteria and edge cases.
• Review data models and API contracts against the existing schema and identify extensions or refactors.
• Run specs through review with engineering and life sciences teams before handoff.
• Connect proactively with life sciences for domain input and regulatory content approvals.
• Define what "correct" looks like for AI‑driven features: extraction, classification, compliance state derivation.
• Own product quality for shipped features and ensure specs guide pharma teams.
