Job summary

Cheiron in Los Altos, CA seeks a Technical Product Management Intern to turn concepts into engineering-ready specs, working with product, life sciences, and engineering teams.

You’ll own the “how” of components, write feature stories with acceptance criteria, review data models, and define AI-driven behaviors like document extraction and regulatory classification. This is an in-person, semester/summer internship based in our Los Altos office.

Qualifications

• CS, engineering, or related technical degree.
• Experience producing structured technical documents: design docs, specs, architecture proposals.
• Fluency with AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor.
• Ownership of scope, decisions, and tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Break product briefs into components and define boundaries with the product team and domain experts.
• Write numbered feature stories with acceptance criteria and state transitions.
• Review data models and API contracts against the existing schema and decide extensions/refactors.
• Define what 'correct' looks like for AI-driven features (document extraction, regulatory classification, compliance state).
• Run specs through review with engineering and life sciences team before handoff.
• Work directly with founders, engineers, and domain experts, demonstrate progress frequently, and make pragmatic scope decisions.
