Job summary

EY in the United States is seeking a Manager in AI Native Engineering to lead data science and big data initiatives for Power & Utilities. You will work with clients and diverse teams to design scalable AI solutions that improve reliability and efficiency, across cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will translate regulated priorities into production analytics, guide multidisciplinary teams, and ensure governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance while delivering high‑impact AI/ML use

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required (4-year degree).
• 6–10 years AI/Data/ML experience in full‑time roles.
• 2–4 years directly managing technical teams.
• Strong Python skills.
• Ability lead, collaborate, and communicate effectively with diverse, hybrid and global teams.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining production AI/ML on a major cloud platform.
• Proficient in Generative AI models and frameworks (OpenAI, Dall‑e, Langchain, RAG).
• Experience with natural language processing and deep learning.
• Extensive experience in DevOps tools (Git, Azure DevOps), Jira, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with MLOps and ML workflows, including data ingestion, transformation, and evaluation.
• Experience with model retraining and feedback loop methodologies.
• Experience with model monitoring and reporting.
• Understanding of data structures, data modeling and software engineering best practices.
• Strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and operations research, with proficiency in data manipulation tools (SQL, Pandas, Spark) and deep learning techniques.
• Excellent communication skills for conveying findings and recommendations, with willingness to travel.
• Commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage change.
• Experience delivering analytics or AI solutions in asset‑intensive environments (utilities, energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, or transportation) is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with utility regulatory, compliance, or operational data considerations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead workstream delivery and manage processes and projects.
• Continuously improve processes by researching and analyzing new solutions.
• Manage professional employees and supervise teams on complex technical initiatives.
• Engage actively with clients, participate in daily sessions, and lead workstreams end‑to‑end.
• Identify opportunities for additional services and manage engagement economics.
• Design and deliver AI/ML use cases relevant to Power & Utilities.
• Work with utility data sources (SCADA, AMI, GIS, EAM, OMS, CIS) and integrate into analytics platforms.
• Support utilities moving AI solutions from pilots to production with governance and compliance.
