Job summary

South Geeks LLC is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for a fully remote, AI-native role. You will guide architectural decisions, leverage AI to accelerate development, and influence the engineering organization toward scalable, secure systems.

You’ll operate just below principal level while driving technical leadership across product and executive stakeholders. The ideal candidate has mastery of modern languages (Ruby, Python, JS/TS, PHP) and deep distributed systems experience, with an emphasis

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
Experience building large-scale services in Ruby, Python, JS/TS, or PHP.
Strong knowledge of distributed systems and relational databases.
Experience with AWS infrastructure and security best practices.

Responsibilities

Partner with product, leadership, design, sales, and marketing to deliver simple, effective features.
Mentor the engineering team on AI-driven development to improve velocity and quality.
Architect systems that scale securely and reliably.
Lead architectural decisions and evolve legacy monoliths toward modern stacks.
Review code and set technical direction with stakeholders.
