Mercor is seeking native English speakers to evaluate AI-narrated audiobooks for US / North American English. You will listen like a fan but with a critical ear, flagging slips so models can improve.

This remote, part-time role (~20 hours/week) welcomes candidates from anywhere, with a preference for those in regions where English is native. You’ll annotate, log errors, and provide structured feedback on naturalness and pronunciation.

Qualifications

• Native English (US/North American) fluency required.
• Active audiobook listener with genuine opinions about what makes a good listen.
• Experience with annotation, labeling, transcription, proofreading, linguistics, or related review work.
• Able to report clearly and communicate with the team.
• Reliable availability ~20 hours per week on a part-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Listen to AI-narrated audiobooks in English and assess naturalness, accuracy, and enjoyment.
• Spot and log errors in synthesized speech and categorize issues.
• Mark exact spans where issues occur using review tooling.
• Report on overall listener satisfaction and naturalness vs. breaks in experience.
• Maintain focus and accuracy across long listening sessions.
