Job summary

Rivermatrix Technologies, Inc. in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, seeks a Software Engineer with TS/SCI and Polygraph to design, build, and deploy AI/ML solutions in secure HPC environments.

You will work across the full ML lifecycle—from data prep and model training to production deployment—using Python, Hugging Face transformers, PyTorch, and containerized deployments with Kubernetes. Strong problem solving and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Twenty years of SWE experience on programs/contracts of similar scope.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; four additional years of SWE experience may substitute for a degree.
• Experience deploying ML models into production software.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications supporting AI/ML capabilities.
• Develop and deploy ML models using modern Python-based frameworks.
• Integrate, fine‑tune, and optimize Hugging Face transformer models for mission applications.
• Build and maintain data science workflows supporting data ingestion, preparation, feature engineering, model training, and evaluation.
• Develop scalable ETL pipelines to process structured and unstructured data from multiple sources.
• Work with data lakes and large datasets to support analytics and ML initiatives.
• Deploy AI/ML applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and systems engineers to transition research into operational capabilities.
• Evaluate information retrieval techniques and improve search, ranking, and retrieval performance.
• Optimize model performance, inference speed, and resource utilization across distributed computing environments.
• Develop software that integrates with databases and enterprise data platforms.
• Support cluster-based computing environments, including job scheduling and workload management.
• Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance improvements across AI/ML systems.
