Job summary

Dev Technology Group in Reston, Virginia, invites rising juniors and seniors to join our Summer 2027 AI/ML Internship Program. Interns will be based at our Reston HQ and explore data science, AI, machine learning, and product development across government, corporate, or R&D projects.

The program emphasizes Agile software development, hands-on coding, and collaboration with mentors. Candidates should pursue a CS/AI-related degree and be able to commute to the office at least two days weekly.

Qualifications

• Rising juniors and seniors pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computational Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or Computer Science with a focus on AI.
• Experience with Python, Jupyter Notebook, and associated data science libraries.
• The ability to work independently and in a team with developers, providing guidance and support.
• A desire to learn new skills, including self-study if needed.
• The ability to follow through on tasks to completion.
• True enjoyment of technology, data, and the desire to contribute to a team’s output.
• Completed coursework in Java, Python, or other object-oriented, typed language.
• The ability to read through existing code with the support of a senior developer.
• Must be able to commute to the Reston, Virginia office a minimum of 2 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Attend Agile Scrum meetings (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retros).
• Develop solutions using modern data science, AI, and ML practices.
• Analyze data and create visualizations to recognize trends in large datasets.
• Perform lean-agile investigation methods, including root-cause analysis.
• Develop software to support data and AI objectives.
• Use a variety of modern software tooling.
• Collaborate with fellow interns on a focused project and present results to executives.
• Write and maintain user guide documentation.
