Job summary

PeopleTec, Inc. is seeking an AI/ML Engineer in Huntsville, AL to develop language-model applications for flight-simulator training, including scenario generation and doctrine Q&A.

You will work with software engineers and an aviation SME to prepare training data, build retrieval-based apps, fine-tune models, and evaluate performance for deployment. The role requires 5–8 years of ML engineering experience, strong Python, CUDA deployment, and expertise in RAG systems and ontology knowledge

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of machine learning engineering experience delivering language-model applications that retrieve information from documents and produce structured outputs.
• Hands-on data preparation and fine-tuning language models, including parameter-efficient methods and human feedback optimization.
• Strong Python skills and experience deploying models on CUDA-capable GPU systems.
• Experience evaluating model performance and tracking experiments, model versions, and training-data history.
• Experience building RAG systems that produce reliable, expected results.

Responsibilities

• Build AI applications that generate training scenarios and answer questions from approved documents.
• Prepare training data and fine-tune language models using domain material and instructor feedback.
• Validate generated scenarios against training requirements and test model performance, response time, and safety.
• Collaborate with software team to integrate, release, and maintain models and data.
• Develop trainee assessment, adaptive difficulty, and after-action features as capabilities expand.
