Job summary

The Nuclear Company in Washington DC is hiring an AI/ML Engineer Intern for a 12-week Summer 2027 program. You will join the Platform Integration & AI/Data squad to work on NOS, building ML features and AI agents that operate against NOS data and tools.

You will collaborate with full-time engineers and nuclear domain experts, shipping models to production and contributing to data pipelines across Palantir Foundry and AWS GovCloud. Housing provided for interns outside the DC area.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a BS in Computer Science, ML, Data Science, Statistics, or Mathematics.
• Available for a full six-month term and returning to school afterward.
• Strong Python fundamentals and exposure to ML tooling (PyTorch, Hugging Face).
• Track record of shipping working software or ML projects.

Responsibilities

• Ship ML and AI features inside NOS used by engineers and teams.
• Build AI agents/workflows that operate against NOS data and tools.
• Develop data pipelines across Palantir Foundry and AWS GovCloud.
• Create time-series analyses for sensor and project data.
• Own model quality criteria, thresholds, and regression suites.
