Job summary

Block, Inc. in Austin, Texas, is seeking an AI Legal Program Manager to navigate the legal and regulatory landscape of our AI initiatives.

You will collaborate with legal, engineering, product, and compliance teams to develop frameworks for responsible AI and ensure regulatory risk management across our AI products and services. You will drive policy development, participate in cross-functional reviews, and build governance documentation such as model cards and risk assessments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in technical program management, with at least 2 years in AI/ML initiatives.
• Strong understanding of emerging AI regulations and their practical implementation.
• Experience developing legal frameworks for AI governance and responsible AI.
• Track record of partnering with technical teams to implement legal requirements in AI systems.
• Understanding of IP in AI development, including training data rights and licensing.
• Experience with AI risk assessment methodologies and mitigation strategies.
• Strong project management skills leading cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Drive development and implementation of AI legal and compliance frameworks.
• Participate in cross-functional reviews to identify legal risks and ensure compliance.
• Develop and maintain AI governance documentation (model cards, impact assessments).
• Partner with engineering to implement legally compliant AI development practices.
• Create and maintain processes for AI incident response and model monitoring.
• Build scalable processes for AI legal reviews across stakeholders.
