Job summary

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking an AI Instructional Designer to develop, review, and maintain AI literacy content for faculty, staff, and students. You will translate complex AI concepts into engaging, accessible learning experiences in collaboration with the CAIO Office and the Center for Faculty Excellence.

Ideal candidates will have Master’s or Bachelor’s with 0-2 years of related experience, strong writing skills, and hands-on experience with AI tools and

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience designing and developing learning content for adult or professional audiences
• Working knowledge of and genuine interest in AI tools, including hands-on experience with generative AI platforms
• Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate, or equivalent)
• Experience developing content in a learning management system (Canvas preferred)
• Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear, accessible language
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and iterate based on feedback
• Instructional design expertise and genuine fluency in AI tools and applications

Responsibilities

• Develop, review, and maintain AI fluency content for faculty, staff, and students
• Collaborate with CAIO office and Center for Faculty Excellence to translate AI concepts into learning experiences
• Design role-based or tiered learning pathways for diverse audiences
• Iterate content based on feedback and learning analytics
