Job summary

Alignerr is seeking an AI Language Expert for Portuguese to evaluate AI-generated speech and text, ensuring linguistic accuracy and educational value. You will assess learner output from CEFR Pre-A1 to B2+ and provide actionable feedback to improve AI tutoring models.

Remote, hourly contract with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week. Ideal candidates have native Portuguese, teaching/evaluation experience, and strong linguistic judgment. Flexible, asynchronous collaboration offered.

Qualifications

• Native-level Portuguese
• Experience teaching Portuguese or evaluating learner language
• Fluent English (C1/C2)
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment

• Evaluate AI-generated Portuguese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality

• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps with expert judgment
• Provide clear, structured feedback to improve AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts
• Contribute to raising the overall quality and reliability of AI language instruction

• Provide clear, structured feedback that improves AI tutoring and language-learning models

• Contribute to raising the overall quality and reliability of AI language instruction

Who You Are

• Native-level proficiency in Portuguese
• Experience teaching Portuguese or evaluating learner language
• Fluent in English (C1/C2 level)
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

• Experience with language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing
• Exposure to AI-powered language tools or educational technology
• Familiarity with regional Portuguese variations (Brazilian, European, etc.)
• Comfort working independently in structured, asynchronous workflows
