Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a French Language Expert (AI Training) to evaluate and improve AI systems for French learners. This remote, hourly contract role requires linguistic insight, teaching experience, and strong bilingual communication to shape how AI understands and responds to learners.

You will work asynchronously, with a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week, contributing to educational quality and natural, idiomatic French across levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+.

Qualifications

• Native or near-native fluency in French.

• Strong written communication in French and English (C1/C2).
• Familiar with CEFR levels and learner speech patterns.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated French speech and text for accuracy and quality.
• Assess learner speech/writing across CEFR levels Pre-A1 to B2+.
• Identify errors, awkward phrasing, and pedagogical gaps.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI tutoring and language models.
• Suggest improvements for natural, idiomatic French fitting pedagogy.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and language experts.

What You’ll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated French speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps using expert judgment
• Provide clear, structured feedback that improves AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Suggest improvements for natural, idiomatic, and pedagogically sound French
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts

Who You Are

• Native or near-native fluency in French
• Experience teaching French or formally evaluating learner language
• Strong written communication skills in both French and English (C1/C2)
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR proficiency frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required
