Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a Chinese Language Expert for AI training. The role is remote with minimum 15 hours per week, focusing on evaluating and improving AI-driven Chinese learning and communication tools. You will provide pedagogically sound feedback and work asynchronously with the team to enhance model performance.

Ideal candidates have native-level Chinese, teaching or evaluation background, and strong English skills. Bachelor's degree or higher is expected, with attention to linguistic detail.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated Chinese speech and text for accuracy and educational quality.
• Assess learner speech/writing across CEFR levels Pre-A1 to B2+.
• Identify learner errors, awkward phrasing, and pedagogical gaps.
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic Chinese output.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI tutoring and models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and language experts.

About The Role

We're looking for Chinese language experts to help evaluate and improve AI systems built for Chinese language learning and communication. Your linguistic insight and teaching experience will directly shape how AI understands, teaches, and communicates in Chinese — making a real impact on one of the world's most widely spoken languages.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated Chinese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+
• Apply expert judgment to identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and pedagogically sound Chinese output
• Provide structured feedback that directly improves AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts

Who You Are

• Native-level proficiency in Chinese
• Experience teaching Chinese or evaluating learner language
• Fluent in English (C1/C2 level)
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required

• Experience with language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing
• Exposure to AI-powered language tools or educational technology
