Job summary

Alignerr Corp. is seeking a Japanese Language Expert for AI training. You will evaluate and improve AI systems that teach Japanese, drawing on teaching background to shape how AI understands, assesses, and responds for learners worldwide.

Remote, hourly contract with flexible, asynchronous collaboration. Minimum 15 hours/week, with potential for ongoing work and contract extension.

Qualifications

• Must have native-level Japanese proficiency.
• Experience teaching or evaluating learner language.
• Fluent in English (C1/C2) for collaboration and feedback.
• Familiar with CEFR frameworks and assessment concepts.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated Japanese speech and text for accuracy and quality.
• Assess learner speech/writing across CEFR levels Pre-A1 to B2+.
• Identify errors, awkward phrasing, and pedagogical gaps.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI tutoring and models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and language experts.
• Contribute to overall quality and reliability of AI language instruction.

Japanese Language Expert (AI Training)

What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated Japanese speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps with expert judgment
• Provide clear, structured feedback that improves AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts
• Contribute to raising the overall quality and reliability of AI language instruction

Who You Are

• Native-level proficiency in Japanese
• Experience teaching Japanese or evaluating learner language
• Fluent in English (C1/C2 level)
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

• Experience with language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing
• Exposure to AI-powered language tools or educational technology
• Comfort working independently in structured, asynchronous workflows
