Job summary

Alignerr is seeking an Italian Language Expert to help evaluate and improve AI training on Italian content. You will shape how AI understands, generates, and teaches Italian for language learning tech used worldwide.

You will assess learner language, provide actionable feedback, and collaborate asynchronously with project leads. This is a remote hourly contract requiring a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Fluent Italian required with teaching or evaluation experience.
• Strong written communication in Italian and English (C1/C2).
• Solid CEFR framework knowledge and learner speech patterns.
• Bachelor's degree or higher completed.
• Attention to linguistic detail and consistency.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated Italian speech and text for accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality.
• Assess learner speech and writing across CEFR levels Pre-A1 through B2+.
• Identify learner errors, awkward phrasing, and pedagogical gaps.
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, culturally authentic Italian.
• Provide structured feedback to strengthen AI tutoring and language models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts.

What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated Italian speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+
• Apply expert judgment to identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and culturally authentic Italian
• Provide structured feedback that strengthens AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts

Who You Are

• Native or near-native fluency in Italian
• Experience teaching Italian or evaluating learner language
• Strong written communication skills in both Italian and English (C1/C2)
• Solid familiarity with CEFR frameworks and learner speech patterns
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required

• Experience in language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing
