Job summary

Alignerr is seeking French language experts to evaluate and improve AI systems trained on French content. Your linguistic insight and teaching background will shape how AI understands, generates, and teaches French — making a real impact on one of the world's most influential languages.

This remote, asynchronous role offers minimum 15 hours per week, with flexible scheduling and potential for ongoing work. You will assess learner speech across CEFR levels and provide structured feedback to

• Fluent in French and able to evaluate learner language.
• Experience teaching or evaluating learner language across CEFR levels.
• Strong attention to detail and linguistic judgment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate AI-generated French speech and text for linguistic accuracy and educational quality.
• Assess learner speech across CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+.
• Identify errors, awkward phrasing, and pedagogical gaps.
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic French.
• Provide structured feedback to improve AI tutoring and language models.
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and language experts.

French Language Expert (AI Training)

What You'll Do

• Evaluate AI-generated French speech and text for linguistic accuracy, naturalness, and educational quality
• Assess learner speech and writing across proficiency levels from CEFR Pre-A1 through B2+
• Identify learner errors, unnatural phrasing, and pedagogical gaps with expert judgment
• Suggest improvements for clear, idiomatic, and pedagogically sound French
• Provide structured feedback that directly improves AI tutoring and language-learning models
• Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow language experts

Who You Are

• Native or near-native fluency in French
• Experience teaching French or evaluating learner language
• Fluent in English (C1/C2 level)
• Familiar with learner speech patterns and CEFR frameworks
• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher
• Strong attention to detail and consistency in linguistic judgment
• No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

• Experience in language assessment, curriculum design, or standardized testing
• Exposure to AI-powered language tools or educational technology
• Comfort working independently in structured, asynchronous workflows
