Job summary

Clasp is hiring an early-career engineer as the second member of AI Labs to shape what comes next. You’ll work across the full product loop: understand a workflow, identify the right problem, build across the stack, launch, see how people use what you built, and improve it.

This is an L1 role with autonomy, feedback, and support while learning to own meaningful problems from start to finish. You’ll help build tools and practices for Claspmates, not just implement predefined solutions.

Qualifications

• Evidence you can ship: built and shipped at least one tool/product/project beyond your own machine.
• Practical AI fluency: actively use AI models and development tools and explain their strengths/limits.
• Full-stack range: reason about interfaces, backend logic, APIs and data flows.
• Product judgment: talk to users, define product decisions, scope smallest viable version.
• Fast learning: seek context, cope with incomplete information, welcome coaching.

Responsibilities

• Own problems from discovery through adoption with internal users.
• Build and improve internal tools including instructions, tools, guardrails, and handoffs.
• Make work maintainable with documentation of decisions, risks, and operating steps.
• Help Claspmates build with AI by running programs and pairing with colleagues to ship products.
• Keep learning as the field moves by exploring new models and patterns.
